|Solid Data or Just Opinion? #17
by Joseph Prescia
A friend of mine works for Intel. He told me that his company does not listen to just any idea but instead only ideas backed up with solid data. He told me that they are not interested in a person’s opinion but they will listen if that individual employee has done their homework by generating the appropriate research to substantiate their idea. Otherwise, he said, that employee is wasting the company’s time.
This style of management must be commended because there are hundreds of companies out there that want to hear anything from their employees just to encourage a “release and feel good” atmosphere. Yet they are wasting the company’s time because they are not teaching their employees to discipline their thoughts by doing their homework first before they speak.
Religion and politics can be found just as guilty. They both rely upon man’s opinion to promote their ideas. Neither is established in solid research within the scriptures of God. They both promote man’s selfish agenda above the Word of God. Opinion and not solid data promote their cause. They are wasting our time with their “feel good” atmosphere. They will not change because millions reward their leadership with paychecks. Both Democrats and Republicans are guilty of promoting man’s socialism. Republicans a little less, yet still guilty. Socialism is a theory devised by man to make him “feel good” about his actions. It’s man’s theory and not God’s. God says “if any would not work neither should he eat” (II Thessalonians 3:10 KJV). This goes against most social programs. So socialism goes down the drain when held up to the higher standard of the scriptures. There are hundreds of verses like this one that makes man’s way devoid of authority against God. And yet they do not care because they are not interested in satisfying God’s will above their own will.
Life is too short to waste our time with religion and politics. Going man’s way makes Christianity a watered-down joke. But within the Word of God are found the real answers to life. We don’t need more opinions but we do need solid answers to life’s problems by those who have done their homework. A thorough reading and studying of the scriptures will clearly divide truth from error. Only then can you tell religion and socialism to go take a hike and trustingly rely instead upon the goodness of God to supply your need.
