Get Personal! #20 by Joseph Prescia
A Biblical relationship with God is personal. Yet the movements of man which include Socialism and Communism address the masses. In our Republic of the United States it’s individual liberty and justice for all. All benefit if the individual is first. Socialism and Communism elevate the group higher than the individual. That takes the dignity out of an individual and leaves him as a mere means to an end.
Socialism punishes individuality with over taxation. It cripples the momentum of reward. Reward is one of the best motivations to encourage imagination. Socialism attempts to correct the so-called “unfairness of income” by literally robbing from those who have rightfully earned it and wrongfully giving it to those who are lazy and selfish. Really, the only people who are poor are those who choose with their own mind to not operate godly principal. They are not poor because they lack money. They are poor because of the way they think and act. The laws of prosperity from God are so big that they work for both the just and unjust (Matthew 5:45). Those who operate the laws will prosper regardless of ethnic background. That comes as a shocking blow to those who want the “freebies.” They have been taught by Democrats, Socialists and others that these movements are right because they are getting them the money they deserve. But if you are truthful, if you are really honest, the only money you deserve is that which you have worked for. All else is done under the guise of man’s movement and not God’s movement. If you rightfully earned money to be able to go to the grocery store and spend $100.00 on food, but were told at the grocery store that you had to give half of it away against your freewill, you would be more than upset. But that’s exactly what a Socialistic policy does before you even get your paycheck.
The relationship with God and His people is personal. In the Old Testament David referred to Him as “My God ” (Psalm18). The relationship was one on one. David did not talk to God through Socialistic ideals, asking the masses of people what they thought in order to reach heaven with his request. No. He went directly to God. Why would we hire a Socialistic middleman when we can bypass his cut and go directly to God ourselves? Also in the Old Testament God instructed Joseph to sell food to his own countrymen during a great famine (Genesis 41-50). God rewards individuals, not ethnic groups. He is no respecter of persons (Acts 10:34), but of conditions. The scriptures declare that in the future we will be rewarded individually for what we do now here upon earth individually. God will not reward a group because they lived on a certain side of the tracks. Each person is accountable to God for their own freewill decisions. Socialism attempts to reward one group at the expense of another group. A lose/win situation. God rewards all who do His will. A winning combination for each individual who will follow His ways. It’s personal. |
