Reward Idolatry?   #24
by Joseph Prescia

Congress just wants to do something. They have not considered the spiritual consequences for their actions, neither have they strongly considered what is best. But rather they just want to be seen as doing something.

This has been the downfall of man since Adam and Eve. In the Garden they just wanted to do something regardless of the spiritual consequences, even if disobedience meant not doing the will of God. They didn’t care about the will of God. They were tricked into the devilish nudge of “just do it.”

Our nation is prosperous because of a few who stand for God and His Word. God’s blessings fall on the just and unjust. This guarantees that His believers get the blessings He promises for their faithful stand. We are an obvious leader around the world because of the wisdom and prosperity God has provided. We get the light because we seek the light! Idol infested countries are all poverty stricken. They refuse to turn to the True God and His Written Word for guidance. They live in darkness. Well, they suffer the consequences for their unbelief. They have freewill just like we do.

United States Congress today is as guilty as Adam and Eve was in not doing the will of God. They send millions to countries like Afghanistan rewarding their people’s devilish beliefs. It does not matter to Congress if they are rewarding idolatry. And yet, that’s exactly what Adam and Eve did. They did not consider the spiritual consequences before they acted. They just did it.

The scriptures declare that
“if any would not work, neither should he eat” (II Thessalonians 3:10 KJV). Godly laws involve the proper exchange of goods and services. But to just give a heathen country money with no goods and services in return is simply devilish. On top of that to reward idolatry goes against everything God commands in His Word. If God turned His back on their country because they refuse to follow Him then who are we, as mankind, to try to correct the situation? We stand to fight against God Almighty. The so-called “war of poverty” via social programs has not worked for over 50 years in our own country. If it’s not the will of God, then man will never win on his own.

More Congressmen need to read the scriptures so they know “how” and “when” to act. Following Adam and Eve’s lead is just plain disastrous.
