| Anxious About Anthrax? #30 by Joseph Prescia The media does not offer a solution to Anthrax because they do not have one. Instead they propound fear on top of all the reasons Americans need to be on the lookout. The lookout for what? If you don’t know what to look out for because the enemy is crafty, sly and surprising what is a person to do? Stop living? Stay afraid? That’s the exact route the media is suggesting because they are afraid. They don’t have a solid rock of hope to dispel their fears. No, instead they go right along helping the enemy, the Devil, bring about fear to those Americans who know not God. Psalm 63:1 O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is; (KJV) David’s relationship with God was a daily, personal one. He did not seek God as an emergency God only. God was living and real to him every moment of the day. How did he get to that level of believing God? He read the scriptures everyday. He filled his mind with godly thoughts of comfort rather than the worldly thoughts (the media) of unbelief and fear. He was the same God before September 11th as He is after September 11th. God is not mad at us. He’s not punishing us. He loves us. He simply wants us to diligently seek Him rather than the idolatry of the world. Hebrews 11:6 But without faith (believing) it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. (KJV) God rewards those who diligently seek Him. Prayer is a means by which an individual can talk things over with Him. Prayer is the Divine cure to anxiety. Philippians 4:6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. (NIV) We pray expecting to receive back from a gracious, giving God. When we do, the next verse promises something internally that is priceless. Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (NIV) If you want peace in your individual heart, then pray expecting to receive. Prayer with believing is the Divine cure for anxiety. |
