The Problem With Christianity   #37
by Joseph Prescia

Those who have decided to adhere to the doctrine of Christianity rarely KNOW the doctrine. This is one of the greatest problems with Christianity. It is not the fault of the doctrine of Christ but rather the reluctance on the part of the individual to properly educate themselves on what the Bible really teaches.

Some errors or controversy include the following:
Some celebrate the birth of Christ on Christmas, December 25th. Yet most churches know that Christmas stems from a pagan holiday.
Some say that the resurrection should be celebrated on Easter Sunday. Yet we know that this holiday stems from the pagan goddess Astarte, queen of heaven.
Some say that Christ died on “Good Friday” and was raised three days later according to the scriptures on Sunday morning. Yet those of us who know how to count to three can not get this one to fit either.
Some say you must work to get saved. Yet others say that you are saved by grace.
Some say the Jesus Christ is God. Yet others say that he is the son of God.
Some say that you go directly to heaven when you die. Yet others say that your body waits until the second coming of Christ.

Idolatry creeps into genuine Christianity when people turn to religion for answers. This is the problem with so-called Christianity today. It is not the fault of the doctrine but the fault of the seeker not going to the written Word of God enough to study so that they rightly-divide the Word of truth.

Most are still in denial of not spending enough time with God and His Word. Not until men and women read and study the scriptures for themselves will they ever get the genuine results God has promised in the Word of God.

Lack of morals, crime, same-sex marriages, second- rate politicians and ridiculous laws are all symptoms of man’s refusal to work the Word of God. This is why putting the 10 commandments in the schools will not change the schools. The moral climate at school, work and at home will not change until the hearts of those individuals change. The heart of a man or woman will not genuinely change from the inside out until the Word of God takes up residence of that individual’s thoughts and heart.

“Study and be eager and do your utmost to present yourself to God approved (tested by trial), a workman who has no cause to be ashamed, correctly analyzing and accurately dividing-rightly handling and skillfully teaching-the word of truth.” (The Amplified Bible)
