Overcoming Poverty   #46
by Joseph Prescia

It amazes me that people will actually label themselves as poverty-stricken. There is absolutely no reason for anyone to ever fail, fall short or to be in need. The only reason they are is because they have missed some of the basic laws of prosperity set up by God. They are not complicated laws nor do they require a college degree. Obviously school is helpful, but these basic laws of success are not taught in most schools. The Creator of the heavens and the earth, the source of all wisdom, the counsel of God Almighty, the One who is most Supreme is not allowed His say in public schools. But intellectuals, egotists and God-rejecters are allowed.

The number one reason in brief for poverty is idolatry. There are several other factors stemming from this greater one, but the least common denominator of poverty is idolatry. God is merciful and allows mankind plenty of room for mistakes but the one thing He does not tolerate is idolatry, making something else a god ahead of Him.

Making the most money is the highest priority taught in schools and generally in our culture. The Bible says that “the love of money is the root of all evil.” Making lots of money is not the root of all evil, but the LOVE of money is. The love of money above God is idolatry.

Our Capitalist system is not evil, as some would have you to believe, but the motives of those who operate within this system could possibly have evil intent. A great scripture verse to support the Capitalist system is II Thessalonians 3:10 “if any would not work, neither should he eat.” Socialists try to rob the success of the individual by taking it away from him and giving to the masses of those who have idolatry and poverty in their life. These poverty-stricken individuals have failed because they refused godly principals and yet they are actually rewarded by Socialist doctrine. God always rewards the individual for their own individual labor, not the masses for their collective failures.
