| Progressive Action? #47 by Joseph Prescia It’s the latest liberal buzzword: “progressive.” They are attempting to promote their socialist agenda under the illusion of their so-called “progressive” action. Unbelievers think the following is “progressive”: -Ignoring Godly counsel -Social taxing and spending to replace reliance upon God -Rewarding society’s unproductive with free money -Making the environment their god since they have forsaken trusting the true God -More rights to the ungodly (gays, prisoners, etc.) -Eroding our Constitutional freedoms with more restrictive laws based on fear -Welfare payments to farmers also known as subsidies -Eroding our right to bear arms with more restrictions imposed on the law abiding -Encouraging many legalized mobs otherwise known as Unions By contrast the scriptures declare a sobering way for those who believe: -”Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.” (Proverbs 3:5) -”He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool: but whoso walketh wisely, he shall be delivered.” (Proverbs 28:26) -“Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly.” (Psalm 1:1-KJV) -“If any would not work, neither should he eat.” (II Thessalonians 3:10-KJV) -Jesus said “For ye have the poor always with you...” (Matthew 26:11-KJV) -“The prosperity of fools shall destroy them.” (Proverbs 1:32-KJV) -For the one who loves God, “His delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night...whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.” (Psalm 1:2,3-KJV) -“There should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts.” (Jude 18-KJV) -“And shall not he render to every man according to his work?” (Proverbs 24:12-ASV) -“Work not for the food which perisheth, but for the food which abideth unto eternal life, which the Son of man shall give unto you...” (John 6:27-ASV) -“But let each man prove his own work, and then shall he have his glorying in regard of himself alone, and not of his neighbor.” (Galatians 6:4-ASV) -“Whatsoever ye do, work heartily, as unto the Lord, and not unto men;” (Col 3:23-ASV) -“He also that is slack in his work is brother to him that is a destroyer.” (Proverbs 18:9-ASV) -“There are many devices in a man's heart; nevertheless the counsel of the LORD, that shall stand.
