| Millionaires in Christ #53 by Joseph Prescia Who wants to become a millionaire? America has supported a game show that makes this offer to anyone with enough trivial knowledge. Another game show skips the money title and just calls it like it is- “Greed.” Lotteries are supported by this same mental drive within millions of Americans; the lust for more than enough. Lust begins where need ceases. It’s really sad to see grown adults wishing to “hit it big” one day. One could spend their money more wisely. Investing in the stock market yields much better odds than dumping time and money into a chance of trying to hit the big one. But lust does not see logic. Lust only knows it wants the excitement. 1 John 2:16-17 16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. 17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever. (KJV) If you had a choice between that which is temporal and that which is eternal, why would you choose the temporal? Eternal life is dependant upon acceptance of Jesus Christ. Genuine peace does not come from a pile of money. Heavenly riches are much greater than any earthly wealth. Jesus Christ is the proper foundation upon which to build. There are millions of people searching for excitement in life because they are bored. They have a natural void in their life without God. And yet they pass right by the savior in their quest for excitement. The Word of God tells us that ALL our sins are forgiven in Christ. God is not mad at us. He is not waiting for you to really screw up so He can really lay it on you. Instead He loves you. He’s a tender God who so loved that He gave His only begotten son. Oh, the joy to fellowship with such a God! I can not imagine a day without a personal relationship with such a loving heavenly Father. For all that believe God’s Word receive the promises of His Word: prosperity, health, godly wisdom, peace, grace, love, joy, power, etc. Spiritually speaking we are millionaires in Christ. I don’t need to seek any worldly lust to satisfy a hunger. The hunger has been satisfied through Christ. Spending time with God supplies all my need. Philippians 4:19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. (KJV) |
