Rejection of Liberal Socialism   #75
By Joseph Prescia

The results of the 2002 election weren’t because the Democrats could not get their message out, but instead it was because their message was understood and rejected. Many have thought that George W. Bush’s popularity helped the Republicans win. The thing that makes him popular
IS his message. The rejection of liberal socialism is what caused a turn in Congress. Their true colors were too obvious. Socialists have had more success when their intended actions were masked.

When you have a leader like the President of the United States who can, at times, set the moral climate for the American people, many of them will often follow his lead. For example, if a President is high on immorality, then public acceptance is usually higher for that type of behavior. But on the other hand, if you have a President that reads his Bible daily, prays for the people and attempts to do the will of God, then the American public will be less critical of Christians and more rejecting of anti-God liberal socialism.

Liberal socialism is anti-God because it seeks answers from self rather than from God. It promotes man-made government above the authority of the Word of God. It infringes on individual liberty by over regulation and over taxation. Laws enacted under this type of government are motivated by fear that God will not supply needs, and that mankind must do something in response to what they call God’s inaction. If social liberals would read and believe the Bible, God’s promises, they would not rely upon their self-sufficiency. Self-sufficiency has become their new god. It’s ironic that the very dogma that causes poverty is what political socialists promote for the American people.

“Unbelievers suffer want and go hungry, but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing.” Psalm 34:10 (NEB)

People who claim that God forsakes them just have not risen up to believe God at His Word. If my relationship with God is so distant, impersonal and of a belief that I’m not worthy, then no wonder I have such a hard time at taking God at His Word. Those who read and study the Scriptures are more positive about life, not because they have psyched themselves up about God, but because they have a true, vital, personal relationship with God, stemming from a trust of Him to fulfill His promises.

“When men cry for help, the Lord hears them and sets them free from all their troubles.” Psalm 34:17 (NEB)

September 11th, 2001 was a redefining moment in the history of the United States. When people cry for help, the Lord hears them and sets them free. God can and will protect America as long as Americans seek the protection of God. The rejection of God will yield more gaps in protection resulting in more disasters. But for those who cry out for help, the Lord hears them and sets them free from all their troubles. God is our strength, our refuge and our deliverer
