Changing Your Perspective
Or Forecasting #96

There are thousands of people employed throughout the country who specialize in forecasting trends for the government and in the private sector. The government relies upon forecasts involving the economy, population, weather, revenue and expenses. There are also market forecasts that banks and the stock market rely upon to seek the best investment strategies. Investors want to know where to put their hard-earned money. And yet, throughout all this opinion, the best of the best are still vulnerable to change beyond their control. They protect themselves with disclaimers like, “
There can be no guarantee as to the accuracy of market forecasts.” With all of the professional “know how” at work, all forecasters can be absolutely sure about nothing.

This just goes to prove the separation between man’s ability and God’s ability. There is no comparison. When God says He will do something He backs up His Word with results. The Scriptures contains verses like Malachi 3:6, “
For I am the Lord, I change not.” He is eternal and with that eternal nature is the ability to love and protect His children.

Deuteronomy 33:27 The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms: and he shall thrust out the enemy from before thee...

Money perishes, physical life ends, worldly hopes and dreams end with the death of an individual. What God has to offer is enduring, infinite, perpetual, always true, and eternal.

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

God’s Word has forecasted a day when all who are saved (Romans 10:9) inherit eternal life and will be gathered together with the Lord Jesus Christ (I Thessalonians 4:13-18). We will collectively spend eternity with our heavenly Father. There are no disclaimers regarding the accuracy of that promise. It is a future event not only forecasted by THE expert, but also backed up by His ability to bring it to pass. The same God who created the heavens and the earth in the first place will be the very one who delivers on His promises for the future. “God will always be true even if no human being can be relied on” Romans 3:4 (New Jerusalem Bible).

We have a new perspective when we read and believe the forecast about our future written in His Word.

2 Corinthians 4:18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.
