Rich is Good!   #97
By Joseph Prescia

It’s really a shame that the subject needs to be addressed, but if more would read and study the Scriptures they would see God’s logic in all subjects. Being rich is a good thing. It’s been given a bad name because of envious politicians that have chosen to degrade someone’s success. Being rich is success. Webster’s defines “rich” as twelve different things, all of which are positive. God’s Word declares in several places that a believer’s success is attributed to God.

Proverbs 10:22 The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it. (KJV)

Being rich is greater than just having money. God’s abundance is for all areas of a person’s life, not just for their finances. Jesus Christ said something like this in John.

John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. (KJV)

Abundance is good. If you have an abundant life then you are in a position to be able to give and help others. Being rich in several areas of your life means that you have succeeded in putting God first in those areas. Some people are better than others at finances, some are better at compassion for others, and some are better at sharing the Scriptures. God says that He can give us abundance in ALL things.

2 Corinthians 9:8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work: (KJV)

We don’t let anyone talk us out of being rich in everything we do, even if it’s in the area of financial abundance. Prosperity has to do with being successful in whatever you set out to accomplish. We rely upon God for success. He owns the cattle upon a thousand hills (Psalm 50:10). That cattle is here for those who follow Him.

Psalm 37:4 Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. (KJV)

What a loving God! He wants to give. However, if we insist on being poor in any area of our life we stop His prosperity from heading our way.

Romans 10:12  For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. (KJV)

If you want to be rich, God is the way. If you want to be poor, then listen to the politicians and think the way they think. People are not rich because they have money but because of the way they think and act. We want to think the way God does about us. When we do, our actions will produce prosperity. We have God’s Word on it.
