| Your Hard Drive: Key to Prosperity
By Joseph Prescia 11/07/06 The only difference between a poor person and a rich person is in the way they think. A rich person obtains with ease. Riches flow to them. In contrast, a poor person constantly wants for more. They are always chasing money and toys for personal satisfaction. Very little comes to them naturally because they exhaust themselves in their pursuit. How then can a poor mindset change and sustain that prosperous way of thinking? A computer offers a great analogy for a major key to prosperity. In fact, this key is so critical, that it’s the foundation for all learning and growth. Just like your brain, your computer is divided into two types of storage: 1. RAM-temporary storage 2. Hard Drive-permanent storage RAM stands for random access memory. Information can be accessed at random. This is the work area of the computer. This is where information is pulled together so that the data can be permanently stored later. The hard drive is the permanent storage area of your computer. When you need to change what is stored in the hard drive, you retrieve that information and work on it in the RAM area. Once the information is changed in the RAM area, you can permanently store it back in the hard drive for future use. According to the Scriptures, the brain works in similar fashion. Proverbs 4:23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life. The heart is the permanent storage area of the mind. When information is collected, the mind puts together thoughts and ideas. The mind is the work area (RAM). Once information is collected by the mind, the mind has the choice either to reject the information or accept it. If accepted, it will be placed into permanent storage where it will be filed into the heart (the hard drive). The key to a prosperous mindset is to change what is in the heart. The heart (the hard drive) drives a person to fear or to be bold. The heart determines whether a person believes they are prosperous or poor. The mind (the RAM) simply collects data. If enough of the correct data is collected (i.e. Bible reading, right thinking patterns, etc.), then the person’s life can be positively changed or re-programmed to whatever they put into the heart’s permanent storage (the hard drive). The brain guards the heart so that the heart can give back the best and richest rewards to a person’s life. This vital key can help a person in all areas, physically, mentally, financially, and spiritually. Copyright Household of God 2006 Return to main page |
