Biblical Truth

In the March 31 edition of The Pueblo Chieftain, Marvin Read makes erroneous statements regarding the Scriptures. In his article, "What is truth? The answer still evades us," he concludes regarding "truth" that "We are a species . . . never being reasonably sure we have it (truth)."

He even assumes that Jesus Christ does not make clear what "truth" is as if "truth" is so hard to find. How insulting to God and His Word when just the opposite is true. It is openly available throughout the Bible to determine what "truth" is.

If a person cannot find "truth" in the Word of God then they have not been looking for it. As we will see, Jesus Christ made it very clear what truth is.

Reasons for not finding "truth" in the Bible: You do not read the Bible and you refuse to believe what you have read. Jesus Christ said that the Word of God is truth (John 17:17). That which God has declared is truth. Truth is not some individual weird experience. Truth is not what my own intellect decides it is. Truth, from God's perspective, is what He declares and it is written in His Word, the Bible.

1. God is Truth (Deuteronomy 32:4)

2. Jesus Christ is Truth (John 14:6)

3. The Word of God is Truth (John 17:17)

Marvin, may I suggest that you stick to what you really know about. You know about religion, man-made religion and its history. Please don't misquote the Bible. Doing so promotes a lie. God's Word declares truth.
